Due to restrictions on televising violent content in Japan in the spring of 1998, only twelve of the twenty-six episodes were aired during the show's original television run. Session XX - Mish-Mash Blues, an extra clip show episode, was created to complete the full thirteen-episode season order.

Following the release of Session #0, a promotional video showcasing the making of the show, the entire twenty-six-episode series was released on video.

In the late fall through the winter of 1998-99, the show aired on the WOWOW satellite station.

On September 2, 2001, the show made its American television debut on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim programming block.
